A bit bummed this week. Not because Wille left for Dublin yesterday ( Yay, here he comes!) or due to the heavy rain we’ve had over the weekend (Yay, garden!). I’m bummed because just as I was so excited about my power walks and was getting ready to see the PT at the gym I got an inflammation in my right ankle. I know, so typical! It started when I felt a pain in my foot on the train back from my mom’s and figured I’d hit myself with the spade while digging in her garden (I’m fast and focused when I’m in action and often don’t realize I hurt myself until I find the bruise later…) but after a week or so of swelling that wouldn’t go down I went to see a doctor who told me I have an inflammation to the tendon on the inside of my foot which causes the swelling above. Duh! I had to postpone my PT appointment a week and hopefully I’ll be ok by Sunday when I have the new appointment. I’m taking meds three times daily to get the swelling down and to take the edge off the pain so fingers crossed it’ll all be fine quickly. Like right now, pretty please!
Have a good week guys and cross your fingers for me!
oh no! it's such a bummer to be sidelined from injury. I'm dealing with plantar fasciitis. can't wait to start walking again. take care.
how long with Wille be gone?

Yeah, just as I got rid of my PF I got something else...
Wille will be away a month. We heven't booked a flight back though because he might want to travel further straight after the course. We'll see when he gets back :)

God bedring, krysser fingrene!

Crossing my fingers for you! Get well soon, Benita. Voltaren is such a strong med that it sometimes affects your stomach. Take care :)!

Oh dear - get well soon!
(You know the German quip - "Sport ist Mord"...?!)

MelD - Indeed!
May - I was a bit worried but it's been ok!
Thank you all for the fingers crossed!

Oh what a bummer! Hope it gets better soon!

How annoying! Take good care of yourself and let your ankle get better.
Some extra snuggling with the kitties should help. :)

If you take your Voltaren as recommended, nobody needs to cross fingers , it cures without any superstition

Angela - SO happy to hear that!

ugh, poor you :( I've been living with these inflammations ever since I was 7 years old - resulting in little Andrea being unable to participate in PE for most of my life. I hope you'll feel better soon!!!!

I know exactly how that feels, I hurt my ankle last week too. I wanna go for a run so badly :)
May I ask, what head phones are those?
Cheers,
Laura

Benita - I just tried to email you, but it was returned :(
Is the link at the top of this page incorrect?

Catherine - it is.

Just make sure to take Voltaren on a full stomach. It can cause ulcer if not.

Just wanted to say that I love your blog! Only just discovered it and have spent the last week reading past posts. I'm originally from Warrington, home of the 1st UK Ikea but now live in Ohio. Your list of things you take back from the US is funny.

Caitriona - I just chatted with him and he has the BEST time :).
Cathrine - Did you know that I worked at the Warrington store? I was part of the team that opened that store way back when :).
Emma - Thanks for your concern. I do!

Benita - I'm a new reader, my daughter told me about your blog last week, I'm not sure how she found you but I have been reading past posts and so yes, read that you were in Warrington during the opening of Ikea. I now live in Cleveland, Ohio, I came here many moons ago with my two daughters. Laura returned to live in England and Bobbie now lives in Finland. We have a friend who lives in Malmo so I have strong pulls to that side of the Atlantic! I've really enjoyed reading your posts and smile about the things you take home from the US.

Keep on moving/stretching/flexing and pointing your foot to help keep the joint lubricated. Hope it heals up soon!

Hi Benita,
Don't let Willie leave Ireland without visiting the west - especially Sligo, where I am from.
We have fantastic beaches for surfing which always attract a lot of young people from all over the world. Strandhill and Mullaghmore beaches in particular are world renowned.
He should also check out some local scenery eg' The Lake Isle of Inisfree and Glencar waterfall which are beloved poet WB Yeats wrote about.
Traditional music is huge in Sligo and the general area - lots of Summer schools in traditional fiddle and flute etc. Here is a link to trad. music in Strandhill. http://pinterest.com/pin/129548926750874005/
Best of luck to him, hope he brought his umbrella though as we do get a lot of rain - but I'm sure that won't stop him having a good time.

Is there ANY chance that Wille could write a blog of his own while being in Ireland? I would LOVE to read it!
Visiting Ireland is a dream of mine that I keep saving for the future.

Roma - Thanks for the tips! Wille will check in on this post while over there so he can check out the all the links! He already loves it in Dublin! And yes, he packad a brolly :).
Jannina - I don't think he will blog, I'm afraid. He's already busy with school during the day and studying at night. I'll ask him if he'll do a guest post after he gets back though!
