Done! Or should I say handled?
Remember this post where I used washers to cover up the flaking paint on Wille’s closet doors after removing the old knobs? Well while the washers did a good job covering up the flaking wasn’t the only thing that bothered me about the closets. When I tore up the old floor I had a couple of tears to the trim which wasn’t looking very pretty and that new baseboard also wasn’t great looking, not being pure white with visible nail holes.
So with Wille away for a month I took the opportunity to remove the doors, patch, de-gloss and paint them and the frame.
Luckily the weather was still warm and sunny the first week of September so I could do all the sanding and patching outside.
And now I’m happy with the finished result. Wille probably won’t notice but I love that it’s finally done and so much cleaner looking.
Still one more project in his room which I hope to get to before he comes home. It’s behind that wallpapered door.
HI BENITA!
always a great job ;)
bye

Benita- I know you have a very busy life that you want to enjoy, but I just wanted you to know how much I miss your daily posts about your home and family. Your blog was always the first one I went to each morning.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your home. I am so desperate to get pared down and light in colour.
Could you possibly tell me where the silver boxes (tins) came from that are in the cupboard. I have some open shelves in our office that I think those would be perfect for all our cables and battery chargers etc
I love your blog it just looks so clean.

Sol - The came from IKEA ages ago and they don't seem to have them anymore but I just saw these http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80251301/#/30245464 in their catalog. Not silver but white, black and green. Love the look of them!

Benita you have inspired me to start doing projects around the house that I have previously been to nervous to try. I have made a headboard and built a desk over the last 6 months and am now painting the house. You are my Martha Stewart!

Wonderful job to have done... I have 4 closet doors that need same treat. But other projects are needed to be done first. By one day mine will be wonderful white and not brownish as now.
