These past few years or so I’ve cut down enormously on my Christmas card sending. I figured that with my blog I can reach most of the people that I want to send holiday wishes to anyway and instead spend the money that used to to to stamps and materials on something good.
This year I’m sending my favorite charity, Stockholms Katthem which I support every month, an extra gift. Stockholms Katthem is a shelter that takes care of strays and other cats that have had a rough life and find new homes for them. They do such an awesome job and rely completely on sponsors and donations.
So Merry Christmas to Stockholms Katthem, all the kitties out there and to all of you of course!
~
If you’re in Sweden and would like to donate to Stockholms Katthem you can find all the info on how to do so here. The kitties say thank you!
A great alternative way to spread a little Christmas cheer - cute kitty logo ;)

That's such a great idea. We're doing that too this year - all our kids asked if we could skip gifts and instead make donations to our favorite places, so we'll be giving extra to Samvetet (a cat sanctuary in Uppsala) as well as Hundstallet in Stockholm and the WSPA. There will actually be presents under the tree anyway, but those will all go to the grandbaby!

What a great idea! Animal shelters everywhere need our help at Christmas and throughout the year.

Lovely idea!
This year, for the first time in years, I opted to send a Christmas card. I custom designed it and and had it printed. Between the card, shipping, envelopes and postage, sending out cards cost me $140 US! I can't afford that!!!
Next year it's one cheap box of cards from WalMart, 10 bucks in postage and only my family and close friends will get a card. YIKES. There are soooo many other things I would RATHER spend that kind of money on.

I love this! I'm involved with a similar cat rescue (our organization focuses on helping stray cats and kittens especially those with special needs) where I live in the U.S. and we are so grateful for people like you who give regularly to help out the kitties! Meows and purrs to you and yours. I always enjoy the pictures of your furry friends!
