This is the grocery store, Coop, where I do most of my shopping during the week. It’s not the greatest store but it’s located really conveniently right next to where I pick my bike up on my way home from work. There is a big nice Coop close to our house in the other direction and that’s where I go if I need a better selection.
Solna subway station on my way home from work. A lot of the Stockholm subway stations have art in them and you can even go on free art tours from station to station and learn about it.
Hello! Guess what I got?
Week day dinner favorite, sausage casserole with garlic bread on the side.
On Friday after work I cleaned the whole house. Wille was away and I went from top to bottom.
It’s been a mild winter and Saturday’s temperature said –4 degrees centigrade. Almost no snow this winter.
But suddenly yesterday it started snowing and I woke up to a winter wonderland. And first signs of spring all at once.
That concludes week 3 2012.
Sweet! You got a mac! I promise, you won't regret it! Have fun bonding with it! :D

Korvsoppa är en favorit för mig också, men pojkarna är inte lika förtjusta så det blir tyvärr inte så ofta.
Nice pics as usual! :-)

Art in the Subways?! How cool are you Swedes... We just have ads in Sydney city but in the suburbs there is trees and in the country they have Station Gardens

Congrats to your new mac! I think you will like it... :o)
Have a nice day.

Here, in Portugal, we have a mild Winter too. Yesterday, we were wearing t-shirts at 1 p.m. (lunch time). Of course, at the beginnign and at the end of the day the weather gets really cold and we have to wear warm clothes. But at the beginning of the afternoon it's real spring!!!

You will love your mac :)

If that's what I think it is, then it looks like the 18th was an exciting day for you Benita :-). How do you say 'congrats!' in Swedish? Looks like you can now forget what defragging is too :-)
Posted by: Helane N | January 23, 2012 at 07:54 AM
Grattis! :)
Posted by: Carlos | January 23, 2012 at 08:06 AM
Benita, even your vacuum cleaner is stylish :-).
Congrats on your Mac. I guess I was the only frustrated user of a Mac computer (after years of using a PC). If you have any tips about your new Mac software (e.g. the iWorks) along the way, please share.

I absolutely love that you're including your life out and about in this new 365 photos-a-day edition! It adds so much depth to your postings, especially for your foreign readers (like me).

Great to see day to day life in Sweden...we are all different but basically the same...we all shop, eat clean and have extremes of weather!
Posted by: Anny | January 23, 2012 at 10:04 AM
You are amazing. Friday after work I am not able for more then for a book or a movie.
Posted by: jja | January 23, 2012 at 10:07 AM
Love these! Is "Coop" the name of the supermarket or is it a food cooperative?
Posted by: celia | January 23, 2012 at 10:13 AM
It's the name of the store. It started out as a membership store back in the late 1800's.
Posted by: Carlos | January 23, 2012 at 10:21 AM
Congratulations! I do love my mac so! Amazing that that little photo with that one little word in another language can show us all what you chose! I also love the pictures from "out and about." Adds a bit of culture to my NY day!
Posted by: shannon | January 23, 2012 at 11:21 AM
Lovely photos... it is rare that I get too see a cat and a vacuum cleaner in such close proximity to each other.

As a lifelong Mac user, congratulations!! You're going to love it, I promise. :)
Posted by: Erin | January 23, 2012 at 12:07 PM
Bonus usually hates it but has been getting better at accepting it lately. My brave boy :).
Posted by: Carlos | January 23, 2012 at 12:31 PM
Hm, I answered this but the comment is gone... Anyway, it's the name of the store but it started out as a menbership store in the late 1800's.
Posted by: Carlos | January 23, 2012 at 12:32 PM
Perhaps an odd comment - but that picture of the coop grocery store is stunning - lovely and very atmospheric!

I love seeing pictures of your day-to-day. Dreaming of Sweden from here in New York City...
Posted by: Anna | January 23, 2012 at 12:56 PM
I expected a smaller grocery store and a dirtier subway. lol So I'm glad you posted pictures and I could get the real picture. When you and Wille were in New York weren't you horrified at the subway there? I always am. Thanks for showing us where you live.
Posted by: Missy | January 23, 2012 at 01:00 PM
Benita, I love these little bits of everyday life you show us!
For someone like me who has a real passion for Sweden, it's really a treat!
Thank you!
;)

I absolutely enjoyed today's post and the photos. It's lovely to see what everyday life in Stockholm can be like. So you finally got yourself a Mac? Congratulations! At first I thought it was an iPad :-)

oh i so wish you would come round to my house and make it as sparkly clean as yours! i can't believe you have dust anywhere, it always looks so perfect and inviting :) i'm so enjoying your 366 project and i'm really enjoying pulling mine together too (although my family are already starting to moan about the amount of photos i insist on taking!).
Posted by: @byebyebirdieuk | January 23, 2012 at 02:22 PM
Looks like a yummy lunch. Don't you just love mild winters?
Posted by: Beatrice | January 23, 2012 at 02:35 PM
Mac is on it's way!!!! GOOD CHOICE! :)
It so great you can put your bike in the subway, I wish I could do that here in Argentina.
It makes me laugh that it is -4 there.... here it is 42 degrees celcius! We are melting!
If you need any help with the Mac just let me know. I really recommend that you get Dropbox for your files so they don't use up all your space.
Posted by: Romina | January 23, 2012 at 02:41 PM
Your pic with Bonus and the Hooven wants me to show this to my cats that behave like crazy if there is even a notion of a vaccum cleaner in my home...

Knew you wouldn't be able to resist the power of 'the mac'- gotcha! x
Posted by: Hxx | January 23, 2012 at 03:05 PM
Congrats on the Mac .Thank-you for the glimpse in to your life I enjoy seeing the simalarities and differences between life in Sweden and Canada. For now, I have 6 people and one dog in my household so I find grocery shopping a pain these days. However I am due the teens will be rebelling soon.Do you plan your meals ahead of time or just go with you feel like eating that day?
Posted by: Susan from Vancouver, Canada | January 23, 2012 at 03:22 PM
Yes! She got a Mac. Congrats! I have been to Stockholm for a day (on my way uo North), but never got on the subway. I really would love to visit Stockholm again.
Posted by: Marianne | January 23, 2012 at 03:32 PM
I very rarely plan meals ahead. I grocery shop almost daily because that way I won't have too much to carry so I usually start thinking about dinner on the subway home :).
Posted by: Carlos | January 23, 2012 at 03:37 PM
Looooved today's post!
So nice to know daily aspects of your life in Sweden!
When convinient please post pic of Baby Mac!

Ooh, this week's pictures are a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed Coop and Solna... a glimpse of everyday life in Stockholm for me!
And you got a mac... yay for you, no more defragging (among other things). May I just share -- the associate at the Apple store recommended that I always do a "software update" to keep my macbook pro current. I set mine on a weekly basis (every Saturday). Then, it does it on its own.:)
Cheers from now rainy San Francisco!
Posted by: Grace | January 23, 2012 at 03:49 PM
Benita, I love, love, love when you show us everyday pictures of life in and around Sweden--so much more interesting to see than the standard tourism photos they show on other sites. I am now following @Sweden on Twitter and they should have you as their next guest Tweeter. Oh, and a huge congratulations on the new Mac! Yay!
Posted by: Renee | January 23, 2012 at 04:20 PM
Yeah! Macs rock!!! You're going to LOVE it!
Posted by: Karen | January 23, 2012 at 05:48 PM
I love the photos from outside (store, subway).
And yeah, there is a mild winter in the Czech Republic too, the temperatures are even above zero and there is no snow here, only on Saturday it was white outside, but it's gone now.

I'm loving these little snapshots of your life!
Have fun with the Mac. :)

Love seeing pictures from around town. I don't recall seeing many in your last 365 challenge - hope we see more this time! Thanks for sharing!
Posted by: NotABlogger | January 23, 2012 at 07:43 PM
oh good, thought i was the only one! also it's alot bigger than my local grocery store. i wonder how big the other coop store is that has 'a better selection'.
Posted by: G.Sims | January 23, 2012 at 08:16 PM
if ever i visit stockholm i will indeed take an art tour of the subway. so much different to all the advertisements plaguing the sydney network. thank you for this insight.

Loving the photo project. Mac love too - you did the right thing!!
Posted by: Susan | January 23, 2012 at 09:32 PM
Yay for Mac computers. I just got one myself 3 weeks ago. I LOVE it and can't believe I waited so long.
enjoy!

We have ads too though :)
Posted by: Carlos | January 24, 2012 at 04:59 AM
I try to remember to bring a camera in my bag more often this time around :).
Posted by: Carlos | January 24, 2012 at 05:01 AM
Ok, there it is. Duh!
Posted by: Carlos | January 24, 2012 at 05:02 AM
I'll try to bring my camera next time. It's HUGE! Wille doesn't like to go there to get milk because it's one of those stores where you have to treck through the whole thing to get to the milk at the very end, no short cuts :).

Hi there,
I've just discovered Chez Larsson - and I like it here very, very much indeed!!! As soon as I saw your blog banner, I knew I'd love it! You're clearly a very talented lady!!! I love the beautiful snowdrop in the snow photo! I'm dreaming of snow, as we've had NONE in Duesseldof this year (I'm a Brit living in Germany). I love snowy days - they make the winter so much more beautiful and magical!
Until my next visit.....

For anyone curious to see more of the Stockholm subway art, I can just recommend this link to some spectacular photos! http://www.damncoolpictures.com/2011/10/beautiful-stockholm-subway-art.html
It's hard to really appreciate how stunning it can be in the everyday rush hour, but whenever I find myself at a deserted platform I really enjoy it.
