You may have noticed I have a sloping bathroom ceiling which posed a bit of a problem when showering in the tub. The shower curtain rod is so short and water kept dripping outside the tub.
Enter one piece of elastic pony tail holder. I sewed it to the back of the side of the shower curtain…
… aiming it at top of the towel rail.
And hey presto, a shower curtain that works perfectly on a sloping ceiling! If you too have a sloping ceiling problem but don’t happen to have a towel rail to aim for you can probably add a cup hook to the wall and get the same effect.
you are one "resourceful gal"... nice looking bathroom! actually, I love the pop of color from your "CALM" poster.

I wondered about the shower curtain yesterday, thanks for showing us your clever solution!

Nice trick!

Simply brilliant ! However, does it cover the edge of the bathtub adequately ? In any case, I love it .

Very resourceful.. and a woman after my own heart. Never hurts to just stand back for a second and think about an issue... what a shame men don't do it more often !! ;o)

Never doubt the power of a ponytail holder, especially if you are in the room.

Brilliant! I skip around smiling for days when I come up with something clever like that! You are so, so clever!

Very nice solution! My first thought was using magnets which could be sewn into the edge of the shower curtain and epoxied onto the wall. I love seeing all that you have accomplished and I can't wait to see what is blooming in your garden in your corner of the world.

Nifty, quick and cheap - great idea.

Very clever! Just funny that you do have pony tail holders....

When I saw the "challenge" I just knew there would be a clever solution to it! Where I lived (guess where?), we called it "Kiwi ingenuity", so I will call it Finnish/Swedish ingenuity!!!!

I used to wear a pony tail daily for over ten years before going short so I have a few left over :)

Instead of a showercurtain, there are those showerwalls to fit on the edge of the bathtub. Or is the space too small for that? This one for instance <http://www.bygghemma.se/inomhus/badrum/duschar/duschvaggar/badkarsvagg-ifo-space-2000-med-vita-profiler/p-180784>

I much prefer to add texture to the bathroom with a shower curtain :)

What a clever design solution, I'll have to keep that in mind!

i love how you always find really nice solutions!! way cool!

Such a clever idea. I wonder if you could also try hanging a shortie curtain on an angle and have them meet. You've got my gears turning!

That's such a good idea - at the moment I keep our curtain in place with a shampoo bottle, but I feel a little sewing project coming along as this would work so much better! Thanks for the solution Benita!

What a great idea, and so simple. I would probably have tried cutting and sewing the curtain and then ended up having to buy a new one.

Thank you for the idea! I have a similar bathroom, I will adapt your solution.

where did you get the shower curtain rod with the bracket to attach to the angled ceiling? I cannot find anything like that and I have the exact same set up.
Posted by: [email protected] | January 05, 2013 at 03:35 AM
It's just a triangular piece of wood that's screwed into the ceiling and painted white. The rod is the shortest standard straight one I could find.
