Check out that stack of catalogs. They’re almost exclusively about bathrooms! I had no idea there was that much to choose from out there to be honest. A lot is kind of same same but there are some gems amongst those pages. It’s been kind of difficult to choose actually. All this stuff is fairly expensive and while I want the tub and sink to be nice I’m not sure I want to spend 5000 kronor (USD 715) more on a super nice toilet as opposed to one that looks really nice.
Here’s how I’m narrowing it down. Little green stick on page markers and dog ears when I ran out… Almost done making my choices, just need to make sure I get the best price for it all…
Just for the sake of it http://www.lefroybrooks.co.uk/ - very expensive, and the brochures are works of art themselves!

so much fun to narrow it down. that i think this is fun is likely an effect of my childhood when i spent several years following my parents to a thousand interiors shops designing the house they renovated under us. the memories seem to also involve a vw van and milkshakes. good luck with the hunt. x

How wonderful to have such a selection to choose from! Can't wait to see what you decide on - I'm sure it's going to be spectacular :)

Who knew there was so much choice out there?!! Not surpringly, as with everything, you can spend as little or as much as you want it seems!

Decisions, decisions, even harder on a budget. Looking forward to seeing what you decide.

It's a good problem to have. Sometimes I think of it as, if I choose the nice, yet cheaper item, will it free up money that so that I can have something nicer elsewhere. Is this the best item to splurge on? If I save enough on everything, would there be enough money left over to go on a great trip somewhere? Ah, choices...it can be overwhelming. Good luck and I can't wait to see how things turn out.

Benita,
There's an interior designer here in the states who has a blog: Urban Grace Interiors. She had a great post one time about how the faucet is way more important than the sink. The faucet is the jewelry, and what gets noticed, so spend your money on that if you have to make a choice. How fun to pick out new stuff! :)

When you think about it, the men will spend the most time "looking" at the toilet while using it, and in general, they won't care if it is "nice" or "super nice". :) Fun, fun, fun to make all these decisions though!

Very cool!

We redid our master bathroom last year, thank goodness my husband sells plumbing fixtures or I would not have been able to purchase the products I picked out. As a fellow IBS sufferer, when you've got to be stuck in that bathroom I say it all matters, beautiful form and good function ;-)
Have fun picking things out.

Choices. They're easy and fun when you're imagining what to choose but when it comes down to actually making choices, well, not always so fun and easy.
Looks like you've got quite alot to choose from!!
I think you can't go wrong when you stick to your budget and you know what you like. And I'm sure you know what you like!!
Have fun and good luck!!

Tjingeling Anette :-)

Hi Benita, we recently remodeled our bathrooms and I chose white for everything, with pale grey floors and chrome fixtures. It worked out really well, very simple, modern and clean. Like you, I love white and choosing white bathroom fixtures has many advantages because 1. It's often cheaper 2. You can mix and match more easily 3. It makes small spaces look bright and clean.
I chose Toto toilets (don't know if you have that option in Sweden, but they are a Japanese brand that gets really good reviews, and have a special finish in the toilet bowl so that literally nothing sticks!!) For tiles, I used commonly available white subway tile, but laid vertically in columns (not staggered) for a modern look. I saved money on the tiles, tub (standard, white soaking tub) and got a good deal on a one piece porcelain sink counter (gloss white, of course) which is a dream to clean. I spent money on good fixtures (taps, shower and shower glass). The result was low budget but looks great, according to all visitors. It looks much more expensive than it cost. If you want more info, I can email you. Good luck!

I can think of 715 things I'd rather do with $715 than spend it on a toilet upgrade. :)
