One of the things that I feel really good about when cleaning the bathroom is refilling the bottles. It's sort of the crowning glory of the clean space. It just wouldn't be the same to put the half empty and gunky bottles back.
The pump bottles hold soap and shampoo in the shower and the rest are my cleaning kit. Not much left as you can see.
All refilled and ready to go back in the bathroom. I keep the bulk cleaning product bottles in the basement party and refill from there. The shampoo and soap are decanted from the original bottles.
Pump bottles from Muji and squeeze bottles are available here.
The cleaning kit is kept in a Muji bin (Love those bins!). The Vileda bathroom cleaner sponge is also kept in there together with a rag but they were in the laundry machine when I took this. The shampoo and soap are kept in a wire holder in the shower.

Hi Benita,
do you maybe know where in Europe to buy bins similar to Muji? Thanks!

Do you make your own stuff or do you buy it in bulk and then refill it?

I'm not THAT crafty :) I buy in bulk and refill!

We have a Muji store here in Stockholm and I know there are some in London and possibly other parts of the UK. Here's a store locator where you can see the rest of the stores http://www.muji.com/storelocator/

Vad synd.

The pump bottles for the conditioner and shampoo are genius! I've been using clear plastic bottles for my toiletries for a long time (it just looks so much better) but I never thought of pump bottles. My mind is blown.

I just refilled some hand-soap last night. I re-used my Method foaming soap bottle (four kids x 2 hands = a lot of soap usuage so foaming dispensers are better) with Nature Clean and a few drops of essential oils. Unfortunately the Nature Clean is a rather off-putting for soap in the bathroom shade of amber yellow. The dispensers would be better in an opaque finish with this soap.
I love when my favourite cleaners, etc. come in bulk which I dispense in a caddy for each floor of the house (2 stories + basement).

Ooh, what's the orange stuff? I love hearing what others use to clean things. I keep looking for a miracle product for soap scum in the tub. Any tips? :-)

It's Ajax orange. Didn't like it but they were out of my favorite Ajax Savon Marseille and thought I'd try something else. It felt kind of weird to put orange stuff on white rag. Not a clean feeling.
I find that there's much less soap scum with liquid soap than bar soap. Also that Vileda bathroom cleaner I showed yesterday is great for tubs.

Kanske.

Funny so many people refill! I sometimes feel that a huge part of my life is spent refilling: soap into pump bottles, cookies in their jars, coffee in a jar, sugar in the sugar pot... and so on. Nice to know I'm not the only one!

That is such a great idea. I bet it saves ton of money too.

I've been using only glass bottles for decanting, steering clear from plastics, but I admit, I like the look you create with your refills. Very nice.

OMG I feel so lazy now... I could never summon the courage to refill bottles like that. I live in Brasil and we do have bulk products, but shampoo is not that common. Specially if you use special ones, so I just use the bottle that they came. I confess that I like to read the labels in the shower also...

I'm back to this post, because I did it! I got the refill bottles and blogged about it here http://majology.mymaj.net/?p=1033
Thank you very much for stirring the motivation in me to do this. The shower was an unsightly view, not anymore!
All the best.
