We took on a subscription to a morning paper again. We haven't had one for a while because 1) lack of time to read it 2) we needed to toss it into the trash due to a change in the local recycling program 3) we both read the same newspaper online too.
Martin decided he wanted the print version again so in my mind I saw it being tossed in the trash again and felt bad about it.
We have a warm composting bin outside and I used to keep some sawdust in a container next to it but ran out a couple of weeks ago, just as the newspaper started appearing again. You're supposed to add as much sawdust or other dry matter to the wet kitchen matter (like potato peels, teabags, coffee grinds etc) to get the compost from getting too soggy.

Apparently news print should be added sparingly to a compost but so far so good. I've torn the papers into thin strips (they curl up kind of cool actually) and I add a handfull everytime I empty the kitchen scraps and my worms haven't complained yet.
Have you added newsprint to your warm composting bin and can tell me about your experience doing that for longer than a couple of weeks or do you have any other composting tips or tricks?
